People this is a SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE...They only way they turn a profit is through advertisements. So if little errors like this happen..SO what?? Are you gonna convince 1 million of your friends to STOP using Facebook becaus they pissed you off?? GOOD LUCK!!

And another thing...if you really wanted your life private..WHY JOIN A SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE in the first PLACE???

Here is a really good idea to help prevent your personal information from being made public: You get what you pay for... Read before you sign up for stuff. And just because your friends are signing up for stuff doesn't make it a smart idea.

I only joined Facebook because I received a request from someone in managerial position while rehearsing, (stage work) last year...Tried it out, not mad about it at all, but still have account open because of requests from some I know in life. I find Facebook dull and boring and don’t log in much.

I don't know how it is supposed to be NO 1, as I much prefer MySpace as it allows YOU to do more in regards to editing your profile in many ways, such as:

Layout: Background Colour/Wallpaper: Option to ENBED videos on your page, instead of having to post them to yourself: (Pfft!! DUH!!) Place graphics, including .GIF, wherever

YOU choose to on your profile page: Add one or numerous Mp3 players with your own uploaded tracks, as well as tracks from the Internet AND option to set it to play automatically.

I could go on... I know we all different in our preferences. However, I just think MySpace has a more exciting atmosphere about it … MORE options which allows for the user to have more control over their own profile, (being able to experiement with their creativeness in layout/colour/theme, etc, as well as stay in-touch with others), simple!

AND, they don't have TONS of SILLY, ANNOYING little applications that inundate you in friends' messages.

It won't take much for me to close the Facebook account and I certainly would not miss Facebook.

I agree, 15 billion dollar companies do make mistakes. But what I don't understand is what took so long for their CEO to come forward and correct it. Try using urturn.com, it's a rising company that will someday surpass myspace and facebook with their innovative ideas. It's a social networking site that gives back to the users.

I think the point is, screw ups like these don't happen at 15 billion dollar companies that are truly successful and will remain that way. If the company is that big, and it screws up, it's a tell tell sign that it doesn't deserve to be so.

Look at financial companies lately (Meril Lynch, which has lost about half its market capitilization, and Country Wide Financial, who might go bankrupt). They messed up in a key metric for this space...essentially they are gonna be competing against google eventually...the key metric is advertising dollars per user.

Microsoft did indeed get punked. Facebook is shite. I just wish my friends would hurry up and get this into there heads before disaster strikes. Facebook aint going away any time soon. 10 years from now the info you post will still be there but will it be as cool.

People who say, posting information for the whole world to see and making it a big deal does not know that people can not see your feeds or profiles if you have not added them to your friends list. On MySpace, you have to set your profile to private to let only your friends see it. Not a big deal if you set up your privacy options.
