Short sighted positions ?. If thinking in a bigger scope, the following may be possible. With the tools Microsoft has provided in software and hardware, it has the potential to advance every person and childs education. It may also provide a potential connection to one another, tearing down the bias and barriers of politics, race, and religion, showing, we are one human race . With a laptop or handheld, bundled software, and even games, we may potentially educate, entertain, and expand past the limited tools and oppurtunity available to a huge portion of our world. Knowledge empowers us all, Potentially available to all.

Well, by reading your article, you appear to agree with the analyst that you quouted (the sentence after it). Thanks for the memories Bill. Still using some of the 16bit software, too bad greed dictates that the newer OS seem to drag out the learning process. If you want a "XP" appearance theme (a real one), then give us the old interface, and put a couple tabs called "new features".

Who wants to learn how touch type again, in a different keyboard format? Oh, and Europe, well, they are lucky it was not me, I would have in-activated every piece of software over there (LOL). Hey, you get what you pay for, right?

Mr. Gates is worth over 50 billion dollars. That wealth gives him the opportunity to accomplish things that no on in history ever has. Some thing. Anything. Something no one will likely ever be able to do or try again. And here he is talking about better computer gizmos. Silly, really.

It's interesting to see a guy like Bill Gates devote some of his interests to humanitarian and global issues. Look at all the politicians in DC, Republican and Democrat, do you see any of them showing concern for the regular person. They are too concerned with partisanship, power, and their own greed fed by big monet lobbyists. Give Bill Gates credit for his actions for the betterment of all people. He could simply sit in his home and rake in the money doing nothing for anyone but himself, like most people of wealth. Thank you, Mr. Gates.
