However, I do not agree these guys are asking for billions of dollars for something they screwed up on. Why dont they take there million dollar bonuses and whatever else they get, like I dont know there 13 million dollar vacation homes and 800,000 dollar houses they live in and bail there own butts out of this trouble. There the ones that put themselfs there to begin with. I am not union and I am far from being jealous. And as far as the union goes, there a part of the reason there in this mess, so yes your right, i'm jealous. So why don't they start kicking over millions of dollars they have taken from the auto industries right along with the CEO's, I'll bet you will start to see there getting closer to there 16 billion dolllar mark they need. There just trying to keep from loseing there personal possesions, that's why there asking for a bail out. Treat them like every other company, you got there on your own, start mortgaging your own stuff first, then see where your at before you start asking for a hand out from the tax payer thats already being ran into the ground from gas prices, groceries, over priced vehicles, mortagages. We dont have nothing to fall back on, why should they. Our destiny is what we make it, we dig a whole and can't afford nothing, we find a way out. They made there destiny, let them figure there own way out. This is my money not theres!!!! I'm the one that humped my butt to put that tax money out there. Let me see, how does it go, if they make $102,000 a year, they dont pay taxes? So its still not there money. This is a true case of taking from the poor to keep the rich richer.

a) They are all fossilized zombies

b) They are asleep

c) They are all inbred, third-generation upper-class twits (Spot the Looney)

d) Since a lot of them are also CEOs, its a case of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"

e) All of the above

Personally, I pick answer e. The directors approve all the ridiculous salaries these people are paid for failure. I am NOT advocating government control of salaries, just that directors do their jobs. There is no CEO on the planet worth what they are paying these guys. The directors of a lot of these companies, not just car companies, should be hauled up the hill to see if they are still sentient or whether they need to be embalmed. The directors are responsible for governing the company in the interests of the shareholders. If they fail, their net worths should be on the line. If the director can't handle that, then get out of the board room.
