On the line!!! We, the Americans, have no control on how our tax dollars are spent. The thing is, the BIG THREE (auto makers ) are wanting an extended bail out. The BIG THREE has sent lots of our American jobs over seas, now our U.S.A.'s tax dollars that are being very well desired by the BIG THREE in their attempt to get an extension on their life line here in the UNITED STATES. So what if they don't, things are looking good for them in the other overseas countries- maybe they will use their taxes to bail us out !!! Yeah right!! MESSAGE TO THE CURRENT OR FUTURE PRESIDENT.,---- If the bailout is approved, you might have had better odds at winning the lottery than to give this country a chance. Do this, BRING THE AMERICAN AUTO INDUSTRY BACK TO THE U.S.A., work on our national security, in all areas, not just in terrorism. P.S. Over two trillion dollars and lots of Americans and Allies lives lost, it could be that we could handle the terrorism on our soil cheaper and less deadly than being the World's police on thier turf.

US automakers need to build cars that US consumers want to buy. (Of course, there is an effect of the financial crisis and available funds, but who will be well positioned when that issue is finally worked out?)

The Japanese have studied the US market for more than 30 years and have taken great pain to do the things that entice US consumers to buy. Which is why US consumers have trended toward buying Japanese vehicles (even though many are US built) since 1995. The Japanese vehicles built in the US were primarily developed under Japanese supervision, using Japanese development techniques.

So the US automakers would do well to follow best practices.

I authored a book on this subject, "Becoming Re-Successful", available at Amazon and at the publisher www.lulu/com/content/4339719.
