Someone spoke of Bush and vetoes...unless you look at each complete bill individually, yes votes and no votes mean squat. What were the riders on each of the bills he vetoed? This is not a partisan statement...each president, regardless of party, has to deal with these issues. But if Bush vetoed legislation because the riders took power away from his political machine, don't you think that is worthy of mention when discussing his vetoes?

Now they want to release the remaining $350 billion of the bail out money asap. For gosh sake - NOT while Paulson is in power in the Treasury! He hands out OUR money like candy - wonder what he will get in return when the new administration takes office and he is out on his keister!

Let's set up an French electric shave and give the financial industry and reasury a shave right down to their shounder. A good place to set up the mashine would be on Lafiate squarel. Both Bush abd Poulson really need a CLOSE shave.

Why couldn't we FORGET the companies that got themselves deep in debt, and give the money to the people? Do you think another stimulus check of $1,200.00 for my wife and I is going to help much? Hell no!!!

105,000,000 adults in our country over the age of 18-- give them one million each for a REAL STIMULUS CHECK, and guess what??? We would get rid of everyone's debt. Wouldn't $105 Million be a whole lot less expensive than $700 billion??? What my wife and I could do with 2 Million ...!!! What we all could do with 2 Million???? Why pay fat cats big money to bail them out and do this all over again. Let us pay our debts, which for most everyone is far less then a million dollars, and help stimulate the economy too! Don't give us a meager little check to go buy a new TV with, but give us money to pay for our homes, and pay off ALL of our debts! Damn, thats soooooo simple it makes it seem wrong!

Isn't that just the simplest solution you ever thought of? Please pass this on! It would work for all! Even for our auto manufacturers and banking industy, it would work!!!

Let us ask ourselves this question - did we really expect that it would be used for what it originally was intended to do??? Hell no - as far as the people at the helm of the Treasury Department - it has all been what is called "EYEWASH" to distract the people of this great country. Pathetic!!!!

With the death of dinosaurs comes new life.., let em die..., new automakers will need help developing new enviro friendly technologies...,and they won't meet the opposition of the "Big" 3 automakers.., if they are not around to pay off the gov., and maniuplate others...., how's about rolling up sleeves and starting a garden..., hmmmmm

There is NO defense for what the Treasury secretary has done and is doing. Congress should withhold the second half of the money until it is sure where the money is going and we, the taxpayers, should write, email, fax, call our Congress people and tell them we want definite assurances IN WRITING as to the disposition of OUR money.
