reading these comments about airline mergers and how bad the service has gotten ,the blame should be put on the management ,everybody talks about southwest airlines who received record fines for not performing maintenance inspections just to keep there planes flying as being the model to copy. ive seen my airline run into the ground by corperate greed , our ceo walked away with millions for being the saviour of the company by selling off pieces of the company saying its good for shareholder value bravo mr milton look at the value of the shares today . good luck to the employees of northwest and delta

I flew on Delta last year, or I should say I had reservations to fly on Delta. Due to a ill mannered and apparently poorly trained counter agent who did not know how to use the computer in order to find my confirmation number so that I may board the plane. Evidently I had to pay for another flight ticket with another airline to reach my destination. When I asked Delta for a refund the response I received was " SCREW YOU". Don't ever fly on Delta.

Delta wasn't bailed out. They went through bankruptcy, workers lost pensions, took paycuts and they survived. They probably wish it all happened now so they could beg for help like the auto wmakers. Good luck to the companies that make it on their own.

I love to fly ,but sure didn't know Delta isn't Union [except for pilots].thats to bad....but they do have a nice fleet of Boeing airplanes......and that is my preference......like we say!!!!! IF IT AINT BOEING I AINT GOIN......

With the enconomy I am glad to see some one survive.....

I find it very peculiar that with all the issues in today's society, we as the American people sit back and view from a distance so far; that nobody has the capability to reach in gesture of fixing the problem. We vote! Believe it or not, every governmental figure is elected to their respective office. Why do we continue to elect officials that are making one mistake after another? We are we blowing ridicoulous amounts of foreign money (that we must pay back w/ interest), and creating budjets beyond our means as a country? Obama's plan to bring troops home, but send them right back out to another country; which cost the military three times as much in salary alone at times of war(not to mention the absurd amounts of money pouring into equipment). This can go on and on, the point is we need to restructure certain government offices to be more efficent.

Delta is going downhill in my opinion. We bought tickets with skymiles last August for a trip in January. In December I was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery followed bu radiaiton therapy that was completed a few days ago. I asked Delta in early January if they would redeposit my miles into my account. The response, "If you die we might." They said I could apply these tickets to other tickets as long as travel was completed by August of this year (the one-year anniversary of the original purchase). I asked if it could be extended to January, the date of the original trip. Impossible. They did refund the money I had to pay ($90 per ticket) but kept the 120,000 skymiles. Bottom line, don't trust their customer service. Bigger is definitely not friendlier.

20 something years ago i flew from chicago to new mexico, (BY MY SELF) WELL over 600 rt. now me, and my 2 kids kids have all flown together two times this year ( to different places) for under 900 both times. actually it was under 800 for 3 rt tickets last june. and almost 900 for this christmas season coming up. my point is STOP COMPLAINING EVERYTHING IS GOING UP EVEN FOOD. GET OVER IT

How many of you bloggers out there are finally going to get off your ass's and start hammering the phone lines an email lines to your particular congressman and demand that we start drilling, stop drinking the green kool aid, turn over TSA to private hands that are far more able to keep the air line industry safe and less frustrating to even get in the airplane to fly some where.Give the damned pilots weapons, which most have a military back ground, and take back our Constitution and get rid of the damned government, out of our lives, including the IRS. I for one am tired of hearing Americans whinning about these government interventions that just contiues to move this country at a rapid pace of Socialism/Communism where the government will soon be issuing papers to travel between states its getting that stupid. Wake up America!

My sympathies Armby, but I think I've got you beat.

I have to fly from Memphis to OKC every other month. Cost on NWA usually runs about $600. If I drive to Nashville, catch the same plane that connects in Memphis, it usually runs about $225.

I feel your pain in Cincy, but I think Memphis is the all time worst.

(By the way, it's common knowledge here in Memphis that NWA has bought up all available gates to keep Southwest out).

Can NWA go away fast enough?
