General Motors saw its shares drop to a 58-year-low today, tumbling 31% to $4.76. Ford 's stock price fell 22% to a miserable $2.08. The drop came after forecaster J.D.

re: Can GM and Ford survive?

UNION is the parasite that will suck up the last drop of blood until the death of its host; like the cancer cells, UNION won't go away but die along with the patient.

Thank you for attempting to trace the real issue back to its true roots.

It's not a Bush issue. It's not a Reagan issue.

It is however an issue that goes back to Clinton, Carter and in all honesty to Roosevelt.

America is a Capitalist Country NOT A SOCIALIST COUNTRY.

What were the programs of Roosevelt...? They were "Socialist Work Programs."

Let's face it. There are people out there that have and know how to make MONEY.

There are banks that make money; there are insurance companies that make money as well as hundreds of thousands of other businesses that make MONEY.

Let the knuckleheads that can't make money go broke!!!!!

Let the ones that know how to make money buy the assets for pennies on the dollar and MAKE A PROFIT.

Yea… I said it PROFIT.

Honestly folks; Look at your Congressman and Senators that are grilling the executives of the BIG 3 for not knowing how to make a PROFIT.

They are the same BOZO’S that made you think last summer that the executives of Exxon, Mobile and other oil companies where the SONS OF SATAN because they made a profit.

PROFIT IS NOT A BAD WORD.

Let the guys (and Gals) that know how to make money... MAKE MONEY. Make them and every other person that makes one cent in this country pay a 15% FLAT TAX on everything they earn. That's right everyone in the United States should pay a flat 15% tax. If 10% is good enough for the big man up stairs, then 15% is good enough for Uncle Sam and the big wigs in Washington. Think about it, if everyone in America paid a 15% Flat Tax on income and quit penalizing people for working harder and smarter like our current sliding scale system does we wouldn't need to pay billions of dollars per year on tax attorneys to figure out how to screw the system. No homestead exemption. No child Tax Credit. NO NOTHING. You make $1000.00 per month you pay $150.00. The CEO of a multi million dollar company that makes a million dollars a month pays $150,000.00. But guess what he doesn't have to pay some high dollar tax attorney who knows how much to tell him to invest X amount of dollars in HOOT OWLS on a Pacific Island no one has ever heard of in order to take a tax deductible business trip there, BECAUSE GUESS WHAT>>> IT'S NO LONGER A TAX DEDUCTION.

If we do this today, everything will be alright in 5 to 7 years.

One more thing, while I’m on my soap box.

Let the folks that draw welfare checks show up once a month and take the same drug and alcohol tests that I have to take to get a check from my employer. This will save billions. Not to mention take care of the drug problem we have in this country.

And while I’m still on my soap box, here is the last one for the day.

Allow the illegal aliens to come over and work. Yea I said it let them come on in. However they should pay twice as much income tax as a natural born American Citizen. To make it more of a level playing field for the TRUE AMERICAN, make the illegal aliens employers pay an amount equal to 10% if their income tax in order to hire them. Then use this money to pay for the illegal allien’s health care costs and the costs of educating their children and grand children.

Those of us that are in our thirties and forties can thank ourselves, our parents and grandparents for this mess. THIS IS NOT OUR CHILDREN'S PROBLEM. If our generation doesn't tighten our belt, buckle down and do what is right today our great, great, great grand kids will be selling off our National Forests to pay for it.

Who needs a TV in every room?

Why can't our kids ride the bus to and from school when we have the best transportation system in the world?

Why can't we get up a little earlier in the morning and take our spouse to work and have only one car? (Come to think of it, if you get rid of the extra TV, car and a few other luxuries items like the boat we use four weekends a year, maybe only one person in the house hold would have to work and the other could be a stay at home parent). This is one DAD that would go for that. If agreeable, I'd be the stay at home parent.

Come on Americans, look in the mirror and be honest, it does not matter how much stimulus money we put in the system rather it be a million dollars or trillions of dollars, we live beyond our means.

Our Government is to blame. We give tax breaks to companies to build plants outside the U.S. so why not. Then the same companies want a bail-out so they can build more plants outside the U.S. The money received for the bailout will not go to helping the local workers at all. The top execs will pass the buck on the suppliers, if any in the U.S, and pat each other on the back for the wonderful job they are doing. The problem is cut the tax incentives, denounce NAFTA, and put a tariff on products brought into the U.S. Give the breaks to the small guys trying to start business's so they can compete.

Buy one and then make a statement. If you've only had vanilla ice cream your whole life, how will you ever know what chocolate taste like? Foreign cars, even ones built in America, are about quality and practicality not simply offering the public what it think it needs and keeping people employed.

Suggestion to US Auto Industry - get rid of the Unions. Aside with quality problems, Unions have contributed more to the downfall of the Big 3 than anything else. Enough is enough. There comes a time when a Union must admit it has done what it set out to do and then dissolve itself only to reconvene when the workers need it not dictate or put a stranglehold on the company which feeds your members. Why is it that Non-Unionised plants can operate so efficiently and don't have their hands out for welfare checks? The BIG 3 need to get that meddling gorilla of their back before they can succeed. The money they get will only last so long because they will not do what needs to be done.

Also, to the people that think that the the Banks and upper class big wigs created this problem - take another look. Thank the middle class and lower class for the problems we are currently facing. Everybody wanted the 'American Dream' and was willing to do anything to get it even if it meant using credit or using your house to get it. Also, thank the govt for ensuring everyone could buy a house regardless of the actually ability to pay it off. Well they got it. Welcome to the New World Order. Hopefully people will come to their senses and pay cash for the things the really need to survive.
