That compares to 78% of 17-year-old boys, according to a research study mentioned in the New York Times . The teen segment is hugely important to cell phone companies,

re: Teens and cell phones: a saturated market

i deseave a cell phone!!!!!!!

I think giving a child a cell phone is a smart idea. I mean you have to explain to them this is not only to keep closer with your friends but also has other benefits like security. I think your users find an article I wrote useful, it`s about <a href="www.yodaphone.com/.../CellPhoneforChildrenandTheirBusyParents.aspx

One plays sports, one does not but takes extra classes to excell in school. They have different pickup times or can sometimes get a ride home with another parent, I am divorced and am the one doing it all and sometimes appreciate another parents help but I want to know what, when and where my child is at and what they are doing. They borrowed other peoples cell phones for a while, but I can't depend on the fact they would have one when needed.

My 15 year old daughter will not be getting a phone until she gets her license, and only a prepaid phone to use in an emergency only. She agrees that kids spend entirely too much time texting, which by the way promotes poor spelling.

Of course texting isn't neccessary.
