@howie -- what are you talking about?? you dont pay extra to use the service... if you have a gold account with XBL and have a sub to netflix, you can stream "watch instantly" right through the xbox... Right now you can run a Vista Extender to your Xbox and run it to your TV, but your computer has to send the signal to your xbox... This cuts out the middle man... Not sure if you are up to date with your technology my friend...

I think its a great option for those who have both subs already, but if you have one and not the other, its an opportunity on both sides to get another sub...

The price of WIFI was built into Sony's ridiculous asking price for their PS3 when it released. I'll take the $400 machine with an adapter over a $600 machine every time. I don't have a wireless network, so I don't want to pay the extra $100 so I'm glad it's an add-on. Also PS3 arguably has the most lackluster list of exclusive games of all time. Sure it comes with Blu-Ray but it could come with foot-massager and a snow cone maker for all I care, the #1 reason to buy a console will always be quality games.

The real problem with downloading movies is the lack of bandwidth to efficiently do it. Heck, in America many still have dial up and are stuck with it because of no other option. Thankfully, I am not included in that demographics but still. Even with broadband cable which has increased speed a couple of times. Is not the only thing that determines speed of connection. Of course the internet itself is very crowded and at times bogs down itself. I really don't have much faith in large content like movies being very popular at least in America where broadband and the internet are becoming over burdened with traffic.

dustin if you alreday have wifi on all the other systems you use the internet for couldnt you move ur router near your tv, thats waht i did, my laptop and everything still work on wireless, i just moved the cable box and router to the stand underneath my tv, saves 90 bucks, and i enjoy a better connection then the wirless router for the xbox could ever have......and gears 2 is going to be freakin awesome, and ya it sucks, that you have to pay an extra 5 dollars a month for netflix, but if they offer hd programing like xbox does, and i really hope they do, its going to look way better on my 40" flat screen with surround sound, than on my 14" computer moniter

One big thing! Net Flix need to put the Closed Caption on the streaming Videos.

The new box is set up for it. Yup! it will how the Closed Captions. But NetFlix does not put them on. They are leaving out millions of people. Get with it net flix..

I'm personally quite happy with their decision to partner up. My boyfriend and I are both subscribers and have a console, but we both use Mac computers, which limits us as far as the "watch it now" goes. Even though the content may not be as great as it could be, it's still really awesome for instant gratification without going to Blockbuster or Hollywood Video when you want something new.

Ill give it a go- my hd downloads have been great, but not blu-ray quality. Well see how netflix does it. I have a ps3 for the blu-ray, and a wii 4 the kiddies, but I still gladly pay for the xbox live. Theres a reason sonys online service is free, next to xbox live, it sucks. Good move guys!
