According to a recent MSN-Zogby poll, only 31% of Americans plan to buy or sell anything on the auction site in the next year. Sellers who want to screw you and buyers who want to screw you are everywhere. No matter how large of a font I use, someone always seems supprised about something. Buyers forget that its their responsibility to read all of the info. There are no mp3 files for some one to listen to. BUYERS MUST READ !!! Then they want the money back. I have been burned more by buyers than sellers with about a 7 to 1 ratio.

To me there are many things that are no brainers. High shipping costs should be a self correcting problem. If someone thinks the the seller is charging to much for shipping... DONT BUY IT... its not rocket science. If a buyer has a low feedback back rating I dont allow them to bid on my items.

I have managed to keep 100% feedback as a buyer and a seller and I'm telling you its not easy, but once you get the hang of it, its rather easy to navigate your way through the dirtbags and deal with the honest people.

The biggest problem now on Ebay is Ebay itself. With Postage rates going up, materials to ship (sorry, but it costs me money to buy packaging.. it doesn't magically appear out of my ass) and the higher fees Ebay is charging, it is hard to keep costs down. Many buyers have got "Walmart" syndrome. Everything for next to nothing.

I always tell people if they can find a better deal somewhere... go for it. Ebay seems to be best for those harder to find items. But in most markets, online or not, harder to find items are going to cost more money.

There are legitimate gripes on both sides of the coin. Sadly, the people running Ebay seem to have never used Ebay and will never come up with a viable solution. And there is a large part of Ebay that depends on people honesty and integrity and in today's world, that seems to be getting harder to find.

I still go to the website just to see what things are selling for but to buy again -----DON'T THINK SO------. wish the world could be free of greed.

The buyer is from canada and sorry to you all I will never send a product out of country without being paid. What if it breaks in shipping or the guy just says its broke. he asks for a refund. RIGHT. So to make a long story short i do a refund. Then paypal gives him back his money and tries to take the funds from my bank also. remember i never got the funds in the first place because of the hold. I had to close my bank account and open a new one with a diferent bank. New checks and all. They didnt want to help at all when i called. I will never do any kind of business with these low life scum sucking pigs ever again. and yes i am pissed

Now we have buyers who are dishonest but they're protected, and sellers who are losing money and without any protection. It was just a metter of time. I don't think that any person from eBay management ever listed or used eBay. If they did, they would know how and what they killed. They killed sellers.

I couldn't agree with you more! I did everything by the book, took care of my customers and ebay screwed me over bigtime. Their fees are outrageous and their h olding of the seller's payments for items is outrageous! I have never heard of such a think in my life! I will NEVER accept paypal as a payment any longer because of ebay's unfair practices. I will get a merchant account and accept credit cards but absolutely NO PAYPAL! They are a joke!

I hope ebay loses money and keeps on losing money and than maybe they'll know how they made sellers feel who made money for them! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Donahoe you need to go get another job before eBay auctions are resting next to Yahoo Auctions. Yahoo needs to be res erected or a new Auction site needs to take over. Ebay is just another internet store and what is really funny(I am not laughing) eBay supposedly doesn't sell anything?

Any money transmitter must -- by law -- transmit the money to the recipient within 10 days MAXIMUM. In some states, they only have three days!

Either PayPal is a bank and/or and escrow service. But it cannot be 'just a payment transmitter' and hold eBay seller payments for up to 21 days!

Do the stockholders know that PayPal forces eBay sellers to beg for their hard-earned money to be released to them?

Do the stockholders realize that PayPal is illegally gaining from withholding these payments by earning interest on the seller's payments?

Do the stockholders know that PayPal tells sellers these funds are going to be there for them once the buyer gets there product...

at the very same time they are telling the buyer that if anything goes wrong, PayPal is holding the money for them? Ka-ching, false report of item not received, and the buyer gets a free gift from PayPal.
