AIG bailout means facials, pedicures

First off, I apologize if this post makes you throw up. Got a trash can handy? Here we go....

Remember that $85 billion government bailout of insurance company AIG? Surely executives there must be under the gun, working all hours to dig the company out of trouble. Our taxpayer dollars demand that, right?

Nope. Less than a week after getting the $85 billion commitment, AIG execs went on a week-long retreat at the luxurious St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, Calif. The trip cost AIG almost half a million dollars, including $200,000 for rooms, $150,000 for meals and $23,000 in spa charges.

Sometimes, after you've worked hard at running a company into the ground, only a pedicure will do. Oh, and a stiff drink. The tab also included $25,000 in "leisure dining," also known as drinking in bars.

Documents uncovering the AIG vacation came out today during a hearing on Capitol Hill.

"If a company is drowning and you're going to spend that kind of money, that's crazy," said one Congressman during the hearing. "The American people are paying for that."

"This unbridled greed," said another. "It's an insensitivity to how people are spending our dollars."

AIG has some explaining to do. But for some reason Congress didn't get any current executives to show up.

The only defense -- a laughable one at that -- came from Eric Dinallo, head of New York State's insurance department.

The worst thing that could have happened after the bailout was for AIG employees to flee the company, Dinallo said. "There was a thinking that they needed to bring everyone together," he said, according to Dealbreaker. "This was not a crazy corporate decision."

There you have it. Bailout be damned; the Wall Street mentality has not changed.

It is sickening and an outrage to a the taxpayers. It is even more so, when we realize that our economy is going down the drain. This guy should stand trial for this; and shame on the insurance commissioner!

Maybe they're taking their little retreat to figure out how to get out of the country with the money they stole from the taxpayers.  Just a thought.

A good example of the monopolistic arrogence of big corporations.  Why don't they give up some of their wealth, and bail themselves out.  But they would rather lay off the little guy that makes these profits for them.

DISGUSTED

every one of them need to be arrested & made to pay back every damn bit of that money.once again the american people have been  taken for a ride by greedy bastard's from big corporations.

Take names, issue indictments and bring them into the court of the taxpayors- the US Congress.

Make them reimburse the taxpayors even if they have to sell their houses.

Lousy bums.

Americans must accept that they are weak people, and prefer stability over all else, including justice. Accept that it is the lot of your children and their children and beyond to be slaves for the new nobility. The new nobility have sensed this weakness and skillfully manuevered the American sheep into a permanently  indebted state so that they can be forced to toil 16 hours a day like the Hebrews under Pharoe for perhaps just food and shelter. Or perhaps the debt may be relieved by a few years of fighting in one of their highly profitable military campaigns. After all, your debt and place in life are evidence of your, and your parents  moral inferiority, and your plight is just. And above all, there will be the much valued stability.

THIS IS PATHETIC! I BLAME ALL POLITICIANS WHO, IN MY OPINION, RUB ELBOWS WITH THESE CORPORATE EXEC A#$@! THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO CONSCIENCE,AND NO ACCOUTABILITY . NOTHING CHANGES.

Those poor guys...it takes alot of effort to run a huge corporation into the ground, ruin peoples retirement funds, take food from the working middle classes table.  Yet they still found time for themselves.  If we do not hold these OVERPAID jerks accountable then this country will never recover.  I think maximum secruity prison if where they need to go to get some rest.....

holy fucking ***, what the *** has happened I feel so much rage

Gross and dispicable human beings
