EBay isn't cheap, says Valuecruncher

Are eBay shares underpriced? Valuecruncher takes a look and says no. The market is right on.

"Our analysis gives a valuation of $28.13 which is less than 1% below the current share price of $28.38." (EBay shares are up to nearly $29 today).

In making its calculations, Valuecruncher assumes that eBay revenues will be $9 billion this year and grow to $11.5 billion in 2010. That's on the high end of eBay's own 2008 revenue range of $8.7 billion to $9 billion.

eBay stock value will plummet once their enron-style profit valuations are exposed, and sellers rush to Amazon in Q3.

ebay is a joke for sellers.list an item here you have a listing fee.sell the item you then have a final value fee.if a buyer pays with paypal(and most if not all do)you have a transaction fee.you are better off selling on craigslist for free.now that's how you sell something!no fees at all.wake up people!

The glut of Buy.com overstock that ebay is using as a boost in listings...I would like to list 500,000 items for free....believe me, I would love it, especially since Buy.com can't deliver on all or perhaps even most of the items listed is purely a farce to con the stock market.....but so far reading your blogs, you haven't been conned, keep up the inciseful work.  Rather Russ

ebay raises fees and raises fees... what used to cost a quarter to list is now a dollar... they take 12 percent from small sellers on items below $24.99...then paypal take 4-7 percent...

thier expectations... make the seller bend...till he can bend no more...

I like to think of them as FEUDAL LORDS... and the small sellers as their peasants

..amazon...here I come

I have sold on Ebay for years. But more and more they are becoming less desireable. Their fees are very high for small items. Then when you add a few cents to your shipping to make up for it, they decide that your shipping is too much. The other day, I lised a very heavy sweater, with a $7.50 delivery fee. Ebay noted that other sellers were shipping sweaters for far less. They did not note that it was a sweater coat which cost over $7.50 to ship to CA. In addition lets not forget how the postal rates, and gas prices to drive to the post office have soared.
