My Dad, worked hard for his family.

He lived from 1903-2000. We did not get to see Dad, much in our younger years. After

Mom, died at the age of fifty-nine, Dad remarried. He drove a car up to one year before his death. My Dad, was a proud man and went to church regular. He believed

in God, and tought his children the same. I am now 76, and still attend services on a

regular basis. We all knew that when Dad, spoke we knew high to jump. Times sure

has changed from then. i loved my Dad, and wish He, could have won this contest.

This is the first time I am sending over a comment on your blog. I have always read and admired the way you faced each day of your life; not that I know you personally but I am speaking based on your stories. I am a regular reader of your blog. (*-*) Now I understand how you became such a strong-willed, no-nonsense woman. More power!

I just called my dad to wish him a Happy Father's Day -- I read him the article. I chuckle because your dad sounds a lot like mine. He is my stepfather and the only dad I've ever known, but I never needed any other! He worked his way up from baggage handler for Delta Airlines into a high level marketing position before his retirement, never finishing college. He did so much for my sister and me, I can never repay that. Thanks for sharing this wonderful account.
