i dont think spam is bad....once in a while...it is good! if u eat it everyday its bad :-) common sense.. ....i came from the Philippines and everytime i go home for a visit i bring some for my family and they loved it...and i read that in 1937 spam came out and was mildly received however, when world war 2 broke out the government needed a way to get meat to the troops and spam was the answer :-)..thats how spam got to the Philippines and we loved it ever since....:-) GO SPAM!!!

Spam is $3.49/lb!!!?? Why would anyone eat that low quality food for that price? Maybe if it was on sale for around $1 I could understand. Hot dogs are probably just as healthy and way cheaper. Our warehouse store has name brand ground turkey at roughly $2 a pound. Look! I just saved $1.5, served my family healthier food and can put it in the freezer for use later.

Spam is really not economical. Ground beef, chicken, bacon, etc. all go on sale for much less per pound than SPAM and is generally much better for you (except maybe bacon.) If you enjoy it that isn't a bad thing but to think that SPAM as a dietary staple is helping your budget is foolish.

I do not have a problem consuming Spam. It was something my grandfather would have in the house and when we visisted he would make me and him a Spam sandwich and it was great. If you don't like it don't eat it. It is as simple as that..

Spam is not going to kill you in moderation. Once in a while is all right if you actually like Spam. Just don't eat Spam, and then three cheeseburgers and a milkshake in one day.

The sodium in canned food is really bad though.

I agree with Jeremy. Spam is loaded with fat and there are a lot of healthier alternatives. Spam lite? why in the world would you want to eat this? and even worse , why would you give this to your kids ? Buy ground turkey , beans, chicken etc etc and make a meal, the cost is less all around.
