anyone remember the Schine Theatres ?

there was one in Mount Vernon OH, called the Vernon Theatre.

it was a grand old movie theatre. Gave way to a bank, sigh.

My hometown theater used to do this, many years ago (1970s). You could either buy a season ticket or the movies were a buck apiece. They showed really old stuff like Godzilla, all the Planet of the Apes movies and some stuff I can't even remember what it was.

The dime store (anyone remember those?) sold 2 cent candy, and my mom would give us 26 cents and we would go buy a little paper bag of candy to take into the movies with us. Sometimes she'd splurge and let us get popcorn and soda. Ah, those were the days...

I'm so freaking old.

I had chance to go to the movies on Irvine Spectrum and Tustin 6 and believe me with three children and the cost of each ticket at regular prices plus snacks, you spend a little fortune everytime you go to the movies because going to the movies is TODAY a luxury that lots of parents cannot afford anymore and these information on these great deals were right on time and it is great!

Our local theater does this, and it is great! I buy the $5 kid movie meal and get a drink, popcorn, and candy that we share. It is a great way to get out of the house and entertain my son for 2 hours.
