I was watghing a

commercal and that is what they were adverditising. I googled the product and

eveything they said about green tea was very positive. You can lose as much as 2lbs

a week. I understand that 2lbs a week is good, it is not good to lose weight to fast.

I am really going to give it a try.

We get a case of them from the coffee plant here in NC. Then I add 2 bigelow mint tea bags to the pitcher so as the tea is running from the tea maker it is very hot and then let it sit for about 45 minutes and remove the mint bags and add 1 cup of sugar and then mix in a gallon pitcher. So refreshing. I prefer meadow tea but can't grow because of cats around.

I lived in Arizona before moving to Saudi Arabia because of my Dads job and 88 degrees was considered a welcome summertime temperature. now in arizona and saudi arabia it often gets close to 120 degrees.

In the pitcher I drop in 2 mint tea bags and let that steep for about an hour. Then add 1 cup of sugar. It is the best tea and more refreshing. If you have ever drank meadow tea you will know what I mean. I get 90 1 gallon tea bags for 25.00. Lasts forever. The mint tea is 20 bags for 2.12 at walmart.

C'mon people, lighten up. I think the point behind this article was to remind people that there are other things to drink besides just water (always good, but sometimes boring) and soda (bad for you in so many ways, physically and financially) and whatever your poison is at Starbucks.

Living frugal doesn't mean giving up everything. Expand your horizons and you might even find ways to enhance your life that cost practically nothing. Iced tea has elegant simplicity, but a lot of people forget about it.

I must offer my commendation to Luzianne Tea, cheaper than Lipton's but more than most house brands. The makers claim it is specially blended for iced tea, and I like it best. Also, the Wal-Mart knock off of Equal is very good, and a lot cheaper than the name brand product ($2.19 for 200 in packets, here in Saint Looee). Sweet 'n Low has a bitter, chemical taste that really turns me off.

re: In praise of iced tea

You all know the reason we Southerners have survived and thrived through the years....sweet iced tea, darlin'! Ain't nothing finer than sweet tea, lightnin' bugs, and sittin' on the porch, stoop, tailgate, portico, or fire escape! There have always been times of financial strain....you've just gotta know how to ride with it! A toast to all you folks who appreciate what really matters!
