I drive a 4-door '06 Toyota Tocoma and it has awful gas mileage for a V6. I love it though, it does what I need it to do! It fits in my garage like a car, it can go anywhere I want it to go, haul friends and loads and can out run a lot of V8 trucks and some cars! I can go on and on, but my point is that we all are different and have different tastes. What a dull world we'll be living in if we all were the same! My truck fits me perfectly and I wouldn't drive anything else! When I bought my truck I wasn't concern about gas prices, because I can afford it! Those who can't afford to drive Hummers are all haters (Envious) to those who don't understand hating.

How about those Humungous Excursions, Expeditions, Navigatorsor, Land Rovers, conversion vans? What do they get like 6-9mpg... Forget about those?

Like another blogger wrote, H3s are a 5 cylinder, look at any 6 cycdlinder or greater lighter trucks made by the foreign automakers...same or worse gas mileage. Not to mention their great in the snow for which just an all wheel wasnt cutting it for me living in upstate NY. Unfortuantely everyone buys into the media stigma and dont know the facts.

The sad thing is ive spoken to owners of H2s who have been victims of idiots who have scratched or damaged their vehicles just because of what they drive....tell me again how is that justified, how does that make these idiots better people? they can damage other peoples property but becuase they drive a small car that makes them better human beings? What f idiocy.

All in all the HELL with all the Hummer haters, even though i have, to show support fellow owners on here ...i/ we dont have to explan anything to anyone...

Oh...and by the way,I also have an 08 Honda civic that gets 34 mpg. ! So,to those of you that like to bunch us Hummer owners all in one group,as uncaring.thoughtless, rich demonic enviro-terrorists......think again and grow-up.*happy H3

The other day, my neighbor was bragging about her "small" ecological footprint (and her Toyota Prius), and all I could think about was how often she flies. She's on a plane (7-8 hour trans-continental flights) every other week.

Sometimes, these giant (300+ seat) airplanes are less than half full.

Hummers, aside, they all ride the same; carry the same; open the same; and start the same. We're in an illogically insecure world, where one's worth is measured by which status symbol is being hyped on the television screen or forced fed subliminally to use in magazines and pop culture. Its a greater think to spend money on something functional, than believe the course of hype( and ecologically distress) and purchase for the wont of having something new(i.e, I'm talking to you car leasees out there too).

re: Why would anyone buy a Hummer?

Why we are paying 4$ a gallon for gas, If barrel oil price is over 100$ , how BP, SHELL making so big profit?

re: Why would anyone buy a Hummer?

I personally do not own a hummer, but why are people complaining so much about them. Sure they get bad fuel economy, but so does any car, when compared to a bicycle. So, when you are driving around in your "fuel efficient" car complaining about hummers, someone riding a bicycle may be complaining about you and your car.
