&lt;p&gt;The time you would spend measuring and mixing, is a poor use of time and a terrible way to protect the investment that you spent so much on to begin with.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Also, dish detergent is very abrasive and may take some of the shine off the paint.&lt;/p&gt;
