im atarting a company and need investers but dont understand how to and what not to i need to know how to sell 39% of my company so i will have enough money to start can anyone out there help and remember i am new at this so go easy on me.

I let people know that I'm frugal and send links to forums like these. I also provide coupons I've clipped to people who could use them for things they'll buy anyway. It's better to give and receive support than be put down. Being frugal is hard enough: we don't need someone's oneupmanship...

Find a penny pick it up and keep the news to yourself. Unless you want to be told what a fool you are for wasting all the time we saved just to read this blog. (All sarcasm in case you missed it). If you log a blog entry and someone tosses dirt your way don't take it personal. The fact of the matter is most of the dirt slingers are just miserable because they never enjoy any of their money or they've messed their own finances up so bad that they sling dirt to better about themselves. I say hooray for the person who takes pleasure in saving a penny(or a hundred or more pennies). The Mona Lisa wasn't the first painting that DaVinci ever painted.

To Sarah,

Reveiw your car and house insurance annually. You may save some cash, or at least get improved coverage for the same price. If your vehicles are older drop collision, or increase your deductable.

good for you compition is good in sports and many other areas, however it is never good for one upping someone. how i save or how i spend my money is my business there was a time when i was raising a family and starting a business when it was much harder to save. we all are at different stages of our lives and i say be supportive not superior to others

I dont know how Sarah did it but I went to Time Warner cable internet and it only cost me $29.95 a month! I wanted to get rid of my landline. I dont even have cable- they installed it anyways (I have Direct TV! :)

Frugal rules. I live in the Caribbean, and I lived on basically 500 a month before marriage, and at the age of 27, My net worth is 1/4 million. Save all you can for a rainy day and let compound interest triple the rest.

Donna - You said a mouthful, let's hope some of these anonymous 'one-uppers' will read (and deservedly choke on) your words and stop such unnecessary behavior. Having been raised in a tightwad family, my first encounter with money was to spend, spend, spend. It took years to turn my bad habits around, but starting a family changed my viewpoint. Now I'm able to offer wisdom from experinece to my grandchildren, and it's rewarding to hear them get excited about their own new discoveries on being frugal and enjoy their interest as they share them with me.
