But as it has become every day's news headline since Yahoo started it with cutting 1500 of its task force last year, now a need of platform has been in demand where people can express their selves in words how they are feeling about their company, whey the got laid off was that justified or not.

And every thing they want to tell anonymously. And www.layoffgossip.com is providing you that platform.

Here's what throw's me off, people that were laid off months ago got more than I do and they were with the company for less years and getting paid less.

Let me share you the whole story here. I was hired by a company on july 1997, then it was bought by a corporation, then 3 years ago we were sold to this company. The thing is, people got laid off a year after this new company took over and they got paid for all the years of service from the very first company. And also, another guy I worked with for years and start from the same company got all his years of service paid. He actually worked 12 years total from the old then the second now to this company. This company is now trying to getting away by saying I am considered a newly hired back in 2005 that's when the year we were purchased.

What do you suggest I do? I have to do this fast cause I only a week or so to file a complaint.

I sure hope you understand the whole story here.

Thanks for speding time reading this.

Happy New Year!!!

I understand that people who use the internet all the time need to hit the street and start looking. I posted my comments on 11/12/08 at or about 9 pm. Please review. I purely understand that there are alot of angry people out there because they are loosing everything they own and are having difficulty trying to survive. People are making foul remarks about our newly elected president and he didn't even get into office yet. It's just terrible to even think that way. My entire life from 8 years old, and I left home in my teenage years to face this world on my own placed me in a great state of fear of the unknown. I want people out there in cyberland to stop hurting others and to start helping each other. A lot of our problems come from a government that stopped taking care of its people and people who don't care about our country any more. The priorities are shifted to bad extremes. People out there think they own their homes, stop paying the bank or taxes and you can be proven otherwise. I believe that the free enterprise system is wrecking our nation as well. The priorities are mixed up, teachers, police officers, military personnel and other important people who shape our world and protect our nation have the lowest paying incomes in most cases, whereas some idiot playing professional sports gets multimillion dollar contracts for entertainment. This may be my opion but wages need to be adjusted according to worth. As I stated in my last review, dont quit or give up and don't let people get you down. Just keep in mind, no one is immune to poverty, it a social disease that spreads from the lack of good morales and values. Everybody out there hang in there and good luck. Dave V

I have seen some very generous and helpful advice here on this site which keeps my hopes alive for our country.

On another note, we have all been down at some point, myself included, but we must remain positive, and network here. So let me start, for anyone out there looking for a job who is familiar with eletronics, or medical equipment, or computers and feels comfortable that they can learn electronics with at least an associates in the field(s) that I have mentioned express your interest and I will contact you to get your resume. You will have to interview with my boss of course and it is in the greater Los Angeles area. Serious candidates only please. You will also have to take a urinalysis and background check. No felonies please. I know that everyone doesn't qualify and I don't make the rules, but I am trying and can help those who want to help themselves. My job is in the medical industry and there really aren't many layoffs in this field. If you have experience then you could possibly start off around $50,000.00 a year. I know that's not much, but it is a start.

for dave who live pay check to paycheck. do ever hear about those people who have menial jobs but when they die they leave a college a million bucks? what is it that those people do that you don't? i would guess that they live within their means.

need extra cash?

1. rake leaves

2. shovel snow.

3. cut grass.

4. get a roommate. yes, you can do it even if you have kids.

5. baby sit

6. house sit

7. walk dogs

8. yard work

not one of those things will pay you well but once you start to have money coming it that will relieve some of the pressure.
