All together now: Eeeewwww ! Yet a reader of the Smart Spending message board knows a guy who did this.
YELLOW IS MELLO ( dont have to flush EACH time)

BROWN IS DOWN (DO flush each time! )

Saves a bundle if even only in one bathroom guests NEVER use.

It was the happiest years of my life. My grandpa has been gone, 4 over 30 years now, but what he did for us, will never b forgotten, he raised a family, farmed, blowed snow, mowed ditches,n he died leaving my grandmother, kids, grandkids, and great to have a sense of integrity-n- having a strong work-ethic.We were always happy, always had big family get 2 gethers,n r always there 4 each other. My father use to recycle cars, find wrecked 1's, in a pasture some where n buy it 4 nothing fix it up n we all had, nice cars 4 nothing, 69 mustang, 69 camaro, 69 firebird, wish we still had them. I clip coupons, buy on sale, never full price, donate, shop goodwill, and owe this 2 my grandparents who lived thru the depression n let us know how it was done. I c now that my kids r older now they 2 have picked up some of those trates.I don't live on a farm-n- raise my food, but I do try n have a small garden every year, visit an orchard, go to farmers market, gives me joy n memories of family n helps save $$$$$.We all need to remember how our ancestors lived, and take some notes. ( my husband hates this but I reuse plastic spoons n forks for outdoor gatherings, the hardy ones can be used over and over again)

I work cashiering at WalMart and my hubby is unemployed thanks to this DEPRESSION.

We shower a bit after using the toilet when at home. or squat, wash splash and "bird-bath" as my mother used to call it. It is MUCH MORE hygenic and we are not flushing money down the toilet.

We do bring out toilet paper when we get house guests.

family's health (mental or physical). I buy good quality food, but not in bulk. If

we eat 4 baked potatoes a week, I buy 4 potatoes. The problem with stockpiling is

that much of it is forgotten or wasted because everyone gets tired of it. Flour gets

meal worms, as does cereal. So, less is better sometimes. I shop every week and use coupons. I think we should buy what we need and do whaever conservation we feel confortable with. Some of us may save tp or floss; others are comfortable simply using what they buy. To each his own. Do whatever you can.

-replace all the light bulbs

-every time we leave a room to move into another one, we turn off the lights

-turn off the water heater the entire day and only turn it on 30 minutes before taking the shower

-carpooling - is a pain in the neck but it saves you money

-to clean the glasses, I use water instead of Windex

-recycling storage plastic bags

-using less paper towel and more cleaning towels that are re-usables

-car wash our own cars once a month

-I replaced one of our cars for a diesel, now the diesel is more expensive than gas, but still saves you a LOT of money. I feel the tank on my V6 SUV every 650 or 700 miles, it's around $80 to $85 every time I put diesel.

-Most of the time, we have the curtains closed, so the sun doesn't make the a/c works more often

-I bring lunch at work everyday, so I don't expend going out to have lunch

I don't think I'll do neither the dental floss not the toilet paper, but by the way when we were leaving in CUBA we [the regular people] had to use the newspaper as the toilet paper, we didn't have dental floss, tooth paste, deodorant, water, shampoo, conditioner, make-up, food, etc, etc and we survived, making our own supplies and been patient so, be patient and smart and you'll be able to get out of this temporary crisis.

Good luck!
