I didn't find anything helpful in Mr. Bachelor's blog. I live in Austin also, and am not interested in fliying to other countries to track down cheap 'hoes. However, I didn't find anything at all wrong with this article. As for frugal ppl not being any fun, you've never partied with me, I'm way frugal, and probably one of the most fun ppl you'll ever meet!

You know, it's funny how people worship the bloggers on here. Adolf Hitler could write a blog and people would defend him if anybody criticized his blog. I don't know why you people hate me just because I think some of these articles are stupid. But that's OK because I have been hated my entire life. It's funny though, because when I was in a psychiatric ward back in the 1980's I received more love from the patients and staff than I ever got from the general public. In a way I wish that I had been kept in that facility, but I guess their budget was cut.

He must have heard some bar stories from sailors. Nothing new here. For over the past century U.S. Navy sailors (enlisted mostly) have been retiring to tropical asian countries and opening a bar or just living to drink and chase women. Anyone who has had liberty in the P.I. knows what I mean.

Just as women in this country sell their assets for the highest bidder (good body=marry a rich man), women in third world countries do too, but their standards are different being on a lower economic scale.

Lighten up, WD. Chickadee was being civil. You might think about it yourself.

Also, take a look at Frugal Bachelor's blog; he has some good ideas and a different sensibility from those of us with responsibilities for spouses, kids, and dogs with expensive allergies. Also, he has the freedom to travel and has some interesting insights on life outside the U.S.

Chickadee...what the heck could you possibly learn from this guy? He is a 30 something who refuses to grow up and lives for beer, Taco Bell, and himself.

Well, WD, spending which enables a person to live happily and within their means IS smart. I'm sure we could all learn some things from him. I like his sense of humor.

To Karen Datko, thanks for posting articles from many sources, even 'unorthodox' ones!
