Vanity hasn't totally taken a back seat to reality/gravity. Women are turning to cheaper, nonsurgical alternatives like Botox

re: 'Skip the boob job, keep the house'

Ladies (and men!) If you want cosmetic surgery and can afford it, DO IT. I have had augmentation (I'm afraid to say the "b" word!) and botox. Did I NEED it as a result of multiple births or and accident or deformity? No, I just wanted to look as good as possible. My only regret is I didn't do it sooner! Sure there are people out there that have a problem with addiction to plastic surgery. There are also people who are addicted to all sorts of things and thats not what we are talking about. Most people try to take pride in their appearance, from applying cosmetics, to wearing attractive clothing, to getting their hair cut/colored. This is just another form. It takes guts to do it, and for those of you who think it is shameful, you are WRONG and were probably also born beautiful. Obviously you cant use the mortgage money to pay for boobs, just like you cant spend the mortgage money on anything else less important than housing-but I would certainly spend the money on cosmetic surgery rather than a new clothes or a new car or even a week long vacation! GO FOR IT and dont let anyone tell you its wasteful or shameful.

Life is just so tough.

But seriously, cosmetic surgeons don't just perform "vanity" procedures, like boob jobs. Operation Smile comes to mind.

I'm so thankful. The money came out of a bonus check, so we didn't have take out any money from anywhere, so the surgery was paid in full immediately (I also used a credit card registered at Upromise, so I got some money back - from which I bought some new clothes). It's been funny the support or lack there of I've gotten when I've told people: Some men think it's a waste, women applaud it (except my mom!). I guess it's a matter of perspective. I knew when I turned 27, without doubt, I'd have it done after having children (so 9 years between decision and doing it). For me, as long as my *** stick out further than my tummy, I'm good to go. And, no, I wouldn't consider myself high fashion or trendy or model pretty. If I don't have to go to work, I rarely wear make-up anymore. The choice was about me and how I felt about myself, not about what others think of me. So, if having surgery is right for you, you've researched EVERYTHING pertaining to your choice, and you can afford it, I recommend it. I've not been sorry one minute since I did it.

re: 'Skip the boob job, keep the house'

I believe we should all agree to disagree

My face and body also have have that same burden to carry as that is the first thing my clients see. They are buying the whole package. I should be able to put at least 1/3 of the resources toward my image as I do into the vehicle I'm driving around in for less than 4 years. It is my hard earned money and I am able to choose to spend it the way I opt. I do not need a husband, or a mortgage company to approve it....I am fortunate enough to pay cash. When you can afford to do this, you are able to get the best surgeons producing the best results. With that I work out daily and consider myself fortunate. I don't want to look back at age 60 and wonder why I didn't take care of myself when I was younger. Now when I walk in a room, you know it's a compliment when the women admire you.

I just had my **** augmentation and I can tell you - it's worth it. It's not about 'what God gave you', it's about seeing what you hope for & expect to see in the mirror; looking as beautiful on the outside as on the inside. I was fortunate enough to have the means for this surgery and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I have also had restalyne in my lips, microdermabrasion, and laser hair removal- when there's a will, there's a way. I'd work extra hard & save for that boob job, ladies. The confidence you gain will lead to more money made. You can see before & afters in my pics on www.myspace.com/PRiNCeSSDaNTe or www.PRINCESSDANTE.com

We have to enjoy every aspect the different seasons in your life cycle. Who says, "This is not a country for old men?" The old men or women run things; they only do not know it. The man who designed the computer mouse is way beyond 70! Is Alan Greenspan 33? Is Bill Gates 29? Is Sir Alex Fergusen 31? The only gadget used worldwide and was designed by the so called youths is the i-pod; the designer is about 34. Name another gadget and state the designer's age. Your achievements in life count more than your looks, when all chips are down.

I would not say that the West is reaping the long- sown fruit of putting much emphasis on looks. It is in the American cuture. The Scandinavians, Chinese, Japanese and Africans do not solely allow looks to dictate who does what and where. Looks have not been the most important factor in job perfomance.

We are wired and programmed to age; the superman aged, the beloved Ronald Reagan showed his mettle and aged. Show me any boxer more athletic than the legendary Mohammed Ali today when he beat Sunny Liston? If Mohammed Ali show marked signs of old age, our teeming number of plastic surgeons would fail in the long run, in their bid to keep us looking young forever.

I will never answer the name Bill Cosby, because I look like him when he was at Temple uinversity. The real Bill Cosby is Bill Cosby, whether he is old or young.
