Lots of people are familiar with Valpak, the company that sends coupons in the mail for businesses near your home. You can also find those same coupons and more online, in a searchable format.

In our neighborhood, we found a grocery coupon for $15 off $100 at a local supermarket, plus some food coupons good anywhere, such as $1 off a box of Special K Blueberry Cereal. (The grocery coupons are from coupons.com).

We also found a coupon for free edamame or a California roll from our favorite sushi take-out restaurant, plus deals on smoothies, appetizers, wine and other discounts from local businesses. You can also sign up to receive additional offers and coupons online.

The advantage to the online coupons is that you can search the list when you have something specific you want to buy, whether it's dinner or an oil change. That's particularly helpful for people who are occasional coupon users or who prefer to organize their lives online rather than on paper. You can also get Valpak coupons on your mobile phone. That's part of the company's push to make more use of social media, reports Richard Mullins of the Tampa Tribune at TBO.com.
