The restaurants are at it again, God love ’em.
We just reported about Denny’s second freebie offer of the year -- a free Grand Slamwich when you order a Grand Slam breakfast. Now T.G.I. Friday’s is getting into the act, with deals that are good for the entire month of April.
If you belong to T.G.I. Friday’s Give Me More Stripes club, you can enjoy an appetizer for a penny with the purchase of any beverage in the bar and, with the purchase of an entrée, a second one of equal or lesser value is yours for $1.
For many, this is a clear incentive to join T.G.I. Friday’s membership program, but the restaurant chain also has deals for those not on the membership list: a free Jack Daniel’s entrée with the purchase of another and a buy-one-get-one-free lunch offer -- all good through the end of the month. The promotion for this touts, “We’ve got you covered with our economic relief program.”
We found the Web to be alive with happy recipients of T.G.I. Friday’s largesse. “Leobaby” at Slickdeals.net wrote: “Our waiter let us use both coupons at the same time with our kids sitting in the main part of the restaurant. Our total for two entrees, an appetizer, two kids’ drinks and two sodas was $16.79.”
Gary at GarySaid.com wrote, “If it sounds too good to be true, that’s because it’s that awesome of a deal.” He added, “It’s one coupon per person: So two people can get one appetizer and two entrees for (about) $11.01 plus your drinks.” He also wrote that the coupons can be used again -- until the offers expire.
Tara Kuczykowski at DealSeekingMom.com wrote that if you join Give Me More Stripes, “you’ll be well on your way to earning free food,” explaining “the program allows you to earn coupons for free food worth up to $8 every time you reach $100 in food purchases.”
Kawamata at SlickDeals was convinced by others’ comments at SlickDeals.net: “Wow, this looks so tempting. . . . Screw the diet, I'm in!”
