Free haircuts if you buy their shampoo

Do you ever wonder why your hair grows so darned fast?

We do, and we know that the most frugal approach to this problem is to have an in-house hair cutter. However, all it takes is one bad haircut to disavow one from this approach. (Ours came at the hands of a sister many years ago.)

So, what’s a gal or guy to do? Herbal Essences to the rescue. If you buy their products, they’ll pay for the haircut.

But you’d better not have your bangs down in your eyes because it will take some time to get this deal.

Here’s what you have to do: Buy two of the specially marked bottles with a green sticker on the front that advertises the free haircut. (These are from the new “Hydralicious” collection.) Then visit this TLC Marketing site, enter the UPC codes from the bottles, print your redemption form and mail it, along with the original receipts, by June 30.

You’ll receive your beauty treatment voucher by mail in four to six weeks, according to TLC Marketing. But don’t expect to take it to your favorite stylist. The Web site explains that those who qualify will be given access to another Web site that lists venues where vouchers can be redeemed.

Big question: What if there is not a participating salon within 30 miles of home? This was answered in FAQs, a section of the site we suggest you read before all others. The answer: Contact the “concierge service” by calling the phone number listed on your voucher and “alternative arrangements will be made with you.”

One more question: How long do we have? All vouchers expire July 31, 2010.

I have very thick and naturely curley hair.  It also grows very fast.  About an inch a month.  I am 52 and a dental assistant, so my hair must be able to be out ot the way.  My ultamate dream is to have a major hair dress find a style that works for me.  I live in Upper Michigan.  In the middle of three national forest.  Anybody have any ideas?

Why not try a short bob with bangs.. that would look reaaly nice if your hair is curly.\\\

I say if you like your hair style the way it is, just pull it up for work and let it down when off. I too have long naturally curley hair and I love it. I would not let my work or anything else make up my mind for me. Nor would I wear my hair in a way I did not like.

I wish you luck.

God Bless

I also have thick curly hair, which I recently cut (myself--because I've never like a haircut I've received from a stylist--whole different story) Anyway, I have a bob sort of like the post mentioned above--but no bangs, about chin length.  I wash and condition like normal then after toweling dry I give it a good scrunching with my fingers all over and spray a little spray-on gel.  Frugally this can be made by buying regular gel and watering it down to a thick hairspray consistancy.  Sometimes I give it a little heat from the low setting hair dryer or use a clip to tie my "bangs" back.

I like it because I don't love to spend a lot of time on my hair, I live in Oregon and the rain makes my hair even curlier and so on and so on.

I hope you're not suggesting that she cut her own hair. I personally wouldn't trust myself with a pair of scissors to cut my own hair. I say find a new stylist, look at magazines, and figure out a new look that works for you. I just had a baby and had to get a whole new hairstyle because my little guy kept on pulling on my hair. Now I have a ton of layers and I can easily pull my hair up in back have shorter hair in front so my little guy cant get to it and let it down when I want to feel sexy. Works for me.

No no, don't cut your hair short if its curly and thick...welcome to the club...I have the same kind of hair. Cut it short and it looks like Shirley Temple on a bad hair day...last time I couldn't even get a brush through it the curls were so tight...I found a stylist who has managed to keep my mane under control...tries not to layer too much and thins it if necessary. And yes, about 4-6 weeks is about usual for a trim or it gets out of control. I blow dry mine and use leave in conditioners to straighten it somewhat...will never be totally straight but is more manageable. I keep it about shoulder to chin length and so far so good. When its humid it gets more curly...just gotta embrace the curls...and go with the flow!

While a free haircut is nice, it´s not a big savings.  People can save a heck of a lot of money just by transferring the balance of a high interest rate credit card to a low one.  The savings can amount to hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of dollars of interest each month.  People should research low rate cards on sites like www.lowinterestcreditcard.biz and here on MSN.  It´s a no brainer.   Transfer your balances and don´t accept high rate cards !

you can go short. It would be cute. It just has to have a ton of layers through out to give it a nice shape. I had mine done by a guy at the Regis salon. Ours is located in the Mall.

Have fun. You can always grow it out if  you dont like it.

For us curly hair girls, moisture is the key. Curly hair can turn dry and brittle if its not conditioned properly. Trimming is also good, which you can do yourself. Depending on your face type (oval, square, heart shaped....) you can see which hair cut style would suit you best. So go out there and experiment. I personally have gone from pixie short to shoulder length to what I have now that is down to my waist.  Since your profession needs it to be out of your face a longer length would suit you. So, embrace your curls and be happy that your hair is still abundant.

If a haircut to a curly-headed individual falls down in a national forest and noone is there, does it make a sound?
