Spread the love and share your coupons

If you notice someone lingering in store aisles to see if people put certain items into their carts, it could be "Steward," the blogger at My Family's Money. Steward wants to hand you a coupon.

He has lots that he isn't going to use, so why not share? Isn't this a lovely idea? He explains it in a post called "A frugal shopping tip that leaves everyone smiling." We hope this catches on.

He got the idea from Kimberly at My Good Cents, who advised people to take their extra coupons to the store and place them next to the appropriate items. Steward, an analytical person, pondered whether that was the best way to share the discounts. Taking a utilitarian point of view, he weighed the pluses and minuses of simply leaving coupons for shoppers to pick up (coupons go unused, fall on the floor and leave a mess for employees to clean up) versus the pleasure he and the recipients would get if he handed them over face to face. Face to face won.

Thanks for the link! I like to leave coupons that are getting ready to expire beside products! I wonder how many people even pass up those coupons when buying items!!

I participate in a Yahoo group that shares coupons.  There are about 20 of us.  Each week various websites print a "preview" of what coupons will be in the Sunday paper.  Then each member updates her "wish list" to indicate which coupons she is looking for.  Our group moderator then matches us up on a Sunday with our "opposite" - someone who wants all the coupons you don't and vice versa.  You then follow your partners wish list while cutting your own coupons and in a few days you'll receive them in the mail.  I've participated for 2 years now and it's great!

I just leave them on the table in our lunch room at work.  To have to go through the grocery store and place them next to the appropriate product just seems like too much work.

I've found coupons sitting right next to the products and it's a great surprise!

what websites print a preview of coupons in sundays paper.  Need to find coupons, just getting started

Coupons.com,  CouponMountain.com and Eversave.com.

My group gets ours from this site www.taylortownpreview.com

The Coupon Mom is also a great site that matches up coupons each week with what is on sale in your local store http://www.couponmom.com/

with couponmom, just be careful with what you sign up for, you could end up being inundated with spam.

I shop the large department stores with my 20% coupons in hand. Often times, the person on line does not have a coupon.  I always offer my coupons to other people.  It's kind of like paying it forward.  It's amazing how many times someone has done this to me in return. I also buy extra groceries that are on sale and donate them in bulk in the food drives.  We all just have to do a little bit. http://creditmomblog.com

I bought a yoga mat from opentip.con, really a nice buy. I got a coupon 5% off all products on www.opentip.com,coupon code: opentip12(expiration: Dec.31th 2008), share with you guys.
